A guide to visit Mt Fansipan Mountain

Located 9km from southwest of Sapa town in the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range, the peak of three countries in the Indochina Peninsula Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Fansipan is considered the highest mountain in Vietnam with 3.143m and it has become an ideal destination for young vietnamese peoples, especially for those who love adventure travel. Trekking to fansipan mountain ft can also be combined with SAPA, a famous destination for tourists in the Northern Vietnam and it takes from 3-5days trip which would depend on your priorities and budgets.
How to get there?
The most convenient way to get there by night train or bus via Hanoi – Lao Cai highway which inaugurated on in 2014. Make sure, you would need to buy train/bus tickets at least 2-3 weeks before departing for Lao Cai as Sapa is one of the popular destination for both Vietnamese and foreign travellers, If you are going there by train, there are mainly 2 classes you would need interested in booking with. Soft sleeper ( 4 berth) and hard sleeper (6 berth) or VIP cabin (2 berth ) with the price from USD 25 to USD 150 which depends on how much privacy you want and which class you pick. When reach Lao Cai station, you will continue to catch a shuttles bus to get Sapa Town.
Fansipan mountain is roughly 15km outside of Sa Pa town, hence the trip will start with a car transfer/ motorbike from Sapa town up to the Tram Ton pass. the hike begins by pleasantly meandering through rainforest as it ascends until you arrive at the height of 2900m altitude where you stop for overnight. Next day, you continue hiking up to the summit of Fansipan where you will spend the moment to celebrate the victory before taking the same hiking trail to get back to the entrance of the Hoang Lien National park.

Best time to visit fansipan is from March to May when the weather is good, no rainy and cold. When the sky is clear with much more sunshine and this is an opportunity to have a clear view of the beautiful valley with flowers in bloom.
